Auntie A: Mrs B, I have this revolutionary recipe that you might like to try in your restaurant. Would you be able to help me in selling this new dish?Auntie B: What is the catch? How much do I have to pay to you? What is so great about this new recipe of yours?Auntie A: Well, the recipe has spices and ingredients that you cannot get from here. I guarantee that it is top class.Hah! This is an example of how one form of advertisement was done decades ago. By word of mouth. But now at this fast rate that we are going with the globalisation of the world, can we actually survive with word of mouth? Or print advertising. Does raking up hundreds of thousands of dollars in making billboards and engaging advertisement agencies to come up with sometimes crappy ideas to market our products, still work for some of us? Does the small and medium businesses nowadays have money to advertise with big billboards and expensive advertisement?
So now I am urging and calling all small, medium or large scale businesses to advertise with
SocialSpark.com. Advertisers do not have to fork out huge amount of money just to have their products known and they do not need to tell in detail how the advertising should be done.
Social Spark's live wire I should say is their group of enthusiastic members comprises of bloggers from around the world. As far as I know the internet revolution has surpasses what it was decades ago, and people now know the power that it holds.
What I would like to see are more companies that are based here in Asia or in South East Asia. This is because it would be easier for us Asian bloggers to engage or communicate with these companies in case we need their services or products. It would be good to see local advertisers advertising in Social Spark, as us bloggers would definitely support them.
So, those with small or medium businesses in and around Malaysia, what are you waiting for. Register with
SocialSpark.com and get you and your company blogged about by thousands of bloggers out there!!

I am all for it if the cause is for charity. What we need are people who are willing to go into the field, mix and mingle directly with those who are in need and get their hands dirty in the process. Yes we need money and money helps a lot, but if we lack the human contact or the human touch, it does not serve any purpose anyway. Those who are not aware of a cause that we are fighting for would not be able to see the relevance and importance of that cause if there were no supporters or organisations backing them up.
So for this cause, they need team captains or people with the passion to start a campaign of their own to help those who are in need. And believe there are a lot of them out there. Reported and unreported. One such case is our beloved Michael J. Fox. Alzheimers have cruelly robbed a big part of him that made him who he was years ago. I saw a clip of him on YouTube championing another cause, and it was a real pity looking at him talk and unable to control his body movements. But kudos to him for affecting our lives in a different way now. Good for you Michael.
Thus for those who want to make a difference, be a team captain in the
Alzheimer's Memory Walk. Walk for a good cause and help to make people realise that with a combined action it will definitely lead to a positive reaction.

12 years old. i wished i had spend more time with all of my grandparents, cos i know that they would have had so much of stories dated back to world war 2 whereby they had to flee sabah during the japanese occupation and went to brunei and had my dad there. definitely there would be cool stories from them. i would also like to know my ancestors from china and how were they back then. oh well. i would not make the same mistake as i will document each historical journey that i make so that my great great grand children can learn from them. and this is my story..

i write this with utmost difficulty as i began to dig and dig and dig more on the home that so few of us are going to visit this saturday. i have made my peace in asking and highlighting to all the people that i know to come and help and also to spread the cheer around this particular home, and now it is time for me to concentrate on the home itself.

I was touched by a story of a young blind, celebral palsy 2 year old boy of which what happened to him made me felt angry, betrayed and sad. It made me felt that I wished I was God so that I could scoop those unwanted ones from any near death experience or stop those unscrupulous parents who has too many irresponsible acts up their sleeves to even think about their children. But here is his story.
This boy was sent to the Home when he was only 11 months old by his father, of which I guess he could not cope up with taking care of the baby anymore as he needed more attention than any normal baby. I am not sure where is the mother back then as she was not mentioned. However a few days later the father and mother came back and expressed their attention to take back the baby as they wanted to take care of him themselves. Of course the Home encourages this, as it is always better to have their own parents to take care of their own children. Not long after that, a worker of the Home wanted to throw a pile of rubbish at the rubbish dump out in front. Suddenly at the corner of her eyes, she saw a box that was moving under a tree nearby the Home. She went closer to take a look , lo and behold the blind, celebral palsy little baby boy was squirming in the box. Lord knows how long he has been there and I am not even sure if the heat had gotten to him, or if there were any ants or stray animals around. Your guess is as good as mine, he was abandoned there by his so-called parents. WHY? The Home is always open, 24 hours a day and accepts anyone and everyone who walks, or crawls or limps into the Home. Why did the parents had to leave their baby son, in a box, under a tree, in the hot sun, with flies, ants, stray animals and rodents probably lurking nearby, hoping that the somebody from the Home will catch a glimpse of the box, and hopefully takes a look inside, and hopefully takes in the baby to safety?? Where in the world did they came from??!!
This are just one of the stories that I managed to find from the Net and it is courtesy from http://babysashanmom.blogspot.com/. I will find out more this Saturday, as it takes stories like this to actually reach to the society and make them learn that a lot of people out there need our help.
As we know the Home is housing more than a 100 people, children and adults alike. Residents around SS24/10 are constantly complaining that there are too many children and too noisy in the Home. I figure that they too need a certain peaceful atmosphere in their neighbourhood, so okay we should not blame them. But what we want is solution. Thus they are eyeing in building their own home on a land nearby in Taman Sea. So far as of today, they have already paid the 10% to secure the land. However according to the manager, Mr Baskin, they are some minor problems which have led to the delay of securing it completely. Well I am not really sure what are the problems, but I hope to find out this Saturday. Mr Baskin also mentioned that the construction of the building will only commence next year, thus it will be a year or more for the children to bear with the current home that they have now.

As far as I know this Home survives fully on donations from NGOs, good samaritans, anonymous donors, daily donation from the public and donation drive or funds. I am not even sure how are they going to raise funds (amounting to half a Million) to complete the construction of their new home. Man it really takes a miracle to help them because donation alone would not even cover that. What more with the daily expenses that they have to incur for the residents?

They need people to take care of the 60-70 odd children below the age of 12, mainly for their sanitary needs, food, massage theraphy for those who cannot move, medicines, constant care for those who cannot care for themselves. I mean to cater for these 70 odd special children, they need at least 1 helper to 5 children, that would be a whopping 14 helpers alltogether (and this is just for the children below 12).

How about for those above 12 and are school going children? There are unfortunately some children who are not handicapped or disabled but was ababndoned by their parents. Yes, they need tutors who know how to handle them and to reach out to them as they are completely different from our children. Their learning capabilities will sometimes frustrate those who are not used to it. A simple phrase of "I want to eat" may take them a while to digest or write. Patience is a virtue here, and there are not many volunteers who will do it for free. Special education comes with a price. It includes effort, time and love as well. Do we all have this, even with our children? What more to these special ones?
I just cannot help to wonder if something could have been done earlier on to detect the abnormality of the children from the mother's womb itself, could there be a cure or maybe a medicine to help prevent more damage to the child, thus lead to less suffering on the child now? I know that the parents might be poor or lack of knowledge to take care for their unborn baby or just maybe they were destined to have a special child in their midst. But whatever it is, I know of parents who are willing to take up the challenge to nurture, educate, love, care and pamper their special child all on their own. Thank God for the support from their family and friends, as without them they would not be able to do it. I respect this families and my prayers are with them.
As for the children and residents of Taman Megah Handicapped and Disabled Home, I hope that the visit this Saturday will help them to realise that there are a lot of people out there who are really sincere in helping and easing up their burden. I hope that the caretakers and management of this Home, helmed by the passion and love of their founder, the late Mr S.K. Manikumar would endure the hardship and frustration whenever they encounter cases of abandonement, lack of funds or supplies and even lack of volunteers. Pray for those who are going this Saturday so that their presence will cheer up the residents, pray for those who had contributed in cash and kind so that they will receive the blessings that they deserved, and pray for those who will come again and again to help these organisations to achieve their common objective - to just lend a helping hand...

they are here!!
i have heard their latest single and they sound more mature. jordan still sounds the same, with his high-pitched voice. i actually could not recognise joey's voice or the rest. they sound so different when they've grown up.
do you think if they come here it would be a great wave of fans drooling over them, like years and years ago. wow! that was a phenomenon now wasn't it?
whatever it is, let's just see what happens and how will they go about in seducing their fans. are there still hard-core boy band fans out there? do ex-fans like me still dig this kind of music? or do we still dig them?
let's just wait for the craze to hit our shore (if any)..

oh my gosh!! 6 more months to go and our little boy is going to primary school. yipess. exciting and scary as well. this time he will be in an environment so different than his kindy and classes and the building itself is 10 times bigger. i'm already feeling the first day jitters.
but one fun part about the idea of going to school is the 'going-back-to-school- sales. we gotta buy pencils, rulers, new shoes,
school uniform, socks, new bag (the ones on wheels) and everything else that he needs. he can use the ones he still uses from kindy, but for me it is just nice to have new things when starting a whole new chapter in life. of course not a very good habit to instill to him, so it is between us ok.
so august will be the month where they will tell us which chinese school will he be going to. i am really aiming for that one on the hill, as it is still new thus there will be less students going there. although it did get me worried a bit when i was the 300th plus parent to register their child. i just hope he can get in, cos most of his friends are there. easier to car pool.
will keep my fingers crossed and wait..
LxndreaSB
not really jet plane la.. but only our handy small lil kancil.yes this car has brought us more blessings than sorrow (the fact that it is so minute compared to others). one such example was when we went to sg buloh to get some plants. aduhai. kena packed maut.
one time we bought manure (chicken poop) and the car smelt like chicken poop. duh. eeewww..

we just bought a new player and fixed a 3 way speaker to our handy car, and it is now heaven driving it. we bought it at brothers, but of course not those crazy expensive lcd monitor type. gonna save that for hubby's car. muahahaha.
so as i was saying. a bunch of us from Christian Care Centre will be making a road trip to Terengganu come early Friday morning. we plan to reach there by 1pm , rest then play some hard core football. well of course it is for charity and more like a treat for our fellow friends in CCC. so we really kau kau-ed serviced our kancil to the max (changed the drive shaft, bush, tyres, normal servicing) to prevent any breakdown. well we drove to penang before, so should not be a problem. of course the speed would not be as great as the others but we are not supposed to speed in a convoy right. basic rule : front car must ensure that the back car is visible at all times. if one part of the convoy gets lost, then the one in the middle should be the leader and must guide the rest till they find the first half. been on convoys way back in sabah. convoyed to brunei and sarawak before. so pretty used to it. but that time i drove a land cruiser. hmmm..

not sure how great is pulau kapas compared to sabah's islands. but i guess i can't be complaining about it cos it is the same thing right. white sandy beaches, crystal clear water etc. i heard that it is quite cheap. i am gonna pester hubby for the sea view chalet. another thing is that i am planning to capture anything and everything underwater. that is why i'm gonna go shop for an underwater camera. a cheap one that is. and also a new swimsuit. i can't go for 2 piece cos it would look.. let's just say Not nice.. so just the conventional ones la.
a good break from reality. hope to be rejuvenated after that!

I am always a sucker ( no pun intended) for paid surveys cos they are not only user friendly but it is like getting money literally from the tree! A series of questions will be asked to determine the particulars of the respondents, then another series of questions will be asked about certain products or services or maybe they require you to register for free on their website (most probably to get more paid surveys), submit and voila, it is either you get certain points or instant moolah in your paypal.I came across Get Paid to Try and actually registered for it. No doubt there are certain surveys that I could not participate, thus I lost some opportunity to get paid. Nevertheless I do hope that the administrator will open up the site to non-US residents. But I know that "A New Beginning" attracts a significant amount of US readers as well, so for my US friends out there, be sure to not miss this opportunity to get easy money!!Just Click here to begin,
follow the relevant instructions and you are on your way to try out some free products and services, of which you would have to give a feedback after that. It is as simple as 1-2-3. It is also a very good way for small scale businesses to market their products to the world. Boy, the internet revolution is really fabulous now isn't it. Maybe I should open up my own small retail business, register myself on sites like this, get people to try my products for free, pay them to do it, then hopefully they would like it, then buy more.
Did I forget to mention that upon successful sign up with Get Paid To Try, you will get $20!!!
So come on people, what are you waiting for?

to the love of my life..
nothing can ever describe the tremendous amount of happiness that is in me
to be able to yet share again another day in your life
of which 3 decades you go, you were born into this world;
life might have its cruel intentions
and yet, you are here with me to celebrate that one fateful day
of which God decided that you must be born to do what you do best in this world of mine and now as each of our story unfolds
i hope that you will always remember that those lives you had touched
you have been a blessing for them
as i know that this is your purpose in life;
sayang, i wish you many many more birthdays to come
and an abundance of blessings from God up above..

The day started at around 11am. Okay I was ready with everything, and I started to clean the kitchen. Swept first, then vacuumed, then mopped, after that mopped for the second time. I was doing this over and over again for the whole house. By then my back ached, and I actually spent nearly 3 hours on the downstairs only. I still have upstairs to do!! This is the disadvantage of having more than one floor. We tend to dirty both floors and although it seems clean, but the dust that we bring from outside is everywhere. That is the hard part when it comes to cleaning.
Okay, I started on the upstairs. By then it was nearly 5pm. Pheww. Job well done Edna!!
Went down, lo and behold. I can see hair everywhere, dust flying in from their secret hiding place, and I could see the wind blowing in leaves into the house. Oh man! I just cleaned that!
My vacuum cleaner is not the best brand there is. One round of cleaning is enough for it to be clogged with dirt, and the sucking power is no more there. ANd to think that it is 1600w (not to mention that I need to use extension cord as the vacuum's one is too short!) which requires more energy than most things I have in the house. So to go for another round, not only will break my back, it will run the electric bill and also will drain the life out of my poor vacuum cleaner.
What I need is a cordless vacuum cleaner, of which I can run with full speed whenever I see dust flying around and zappp on it fast before it suddenly vanishes!!
That is why I am aiming for the "new AccuCharge Stick Vac and Hand Vac from Dirt Devil that uses 70% less energy which made it the first cordless cleaning technology to earn Energy Star approval".
Wow! Finally a reliable cordless vacuum cleaner which is well accredited. I have had my share of cordless vacuum cleaners and they just did not meet my expectation. I just need something powerful to suck up all that stubborn dust and be rid of it once and for all!! This might be the answer.

Hubby can I have one please??

A lot of people have blogged about how great
Zookoda is in enabling bloggers to personally email a summary of their posts to subscribed email addresses within a period of time. Zookoda enables the blogger to set a broadcast period as in daily, weekly or monthly to the selected mailing lists set by the blogger. Examples of mailing lists would be 'Family, Friends and Colleagues.'

Another requirement of Zookoda's that really intrigued me was that the sender/blogger must be authenticated by Zookoda first before they can a broadcast their newsletter. Pretty cool. This is to prevent spam and unwanted emails sent out to unexpected subscribers.

Unlike other RSS feeds that gives you the summary of the entry posted, Zookoda offers you broadcast report. In this report, it shows "in real time what has happened with your broadcast including how many emails were sent, how many bounced, how many people unsubscribed, how many people forwarded the email etc." That has got to be the coolest way to know whether you are being appreciated or not. Maybe some might not want to know this things, but others who value traffic and readers would really want to know what are the types of entries readers would appreciate, and what kind of topics that would really attract traffic.
Last but not least, it is very easy to navigate around your Zookoda site. They have it all listed out on one page and from there you can control and navigate your way and also find help on relevant topics at each of the pages. What better way for those who are new in the blogging world to manage their blog(s)? Get your readers to subsribe to you and Zookoda guarantees that it work both ways for you and your subscriber.
Sign up and be amazed!
