Hubbs received a pleasant surprise yesterday for his birthday. He said that noone has ever given him that before so he was really estatic about it.
The idea did not hit me the week before or the day before. It hit me when I was about to go back to sleep after sending him off at 5.30am yesterday morning. So I quickly text my friend and told her to get everything ready and to deliver it before lunch. And she complied.
About 11am, I called my hubby and talked to him while waiting anxiously whether he had received it or not. Seems like he has not received it cos he sounded normal. A call came and he said he had to take it.
A while later he called me, and he said to me, "you know why I'm calling right?" Huh? I said. Somebody came and delivered flowers to the office. Huge sunflowers and others in a nice basket. The girls wants me to keep it in the office. Now everyone knows my birthday. I feel shy la. I giggled and again for the 10th time I said "Happy Birthday!!' and SURPRISE!!
His mum made him a birthday cake which was filled with his favourite - ICING!! So of course hubby and son was licking the icing off from the cake and having the time of their lives consuming every possible piece of icing on their plates. Talk about sugar rush!
It was a nice day in the end. Hubby thought it was quite grand, although I can think of other ways to make it even grander. But whatever it is, he felt special on this day and everyone important was there to make it even more special to him.
So again, a very happy birthday to my dearest husband and we all love you!!

Awww, that is so sweet! I think a lot of guys actually do like receiving flowers.

so sweet of you...i sent flowers to my hubby before too for his bday(to his office) hahaha...i thk these are simple gestures but it meant a lot to the receivers...:-)

thanks rozie. this is the first time he has received flowers, period. i think he was speechless...LOL!
hey june! our man needs some pampering sometimes. not only us women. it might seem corny at first, but i think they really appreciate it.
