Dear Dadda,
Mummy and I are really sorry that we could not celebrate Dadda's Day today with you. Some more before we left, I was watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on 613, I did not managed to talk to you while you were packing. I also saw Mummy taking some red colour tablet which look like sweet and I asked her whether I can have one. But she said that it was medicine for her tummy ache. Poor mummy. She is sick.
I also noticed that you were quiet during the trip to the airport. Were you sleepy too? Well I tried to sleep but I was busy making calls with my Transmutation toy handphone-robot that you just bought for me the other day. Dadda, is Transmutation a new cartoon? Can I have the binoculars-robot, the camcorder-robot and the camera-robot as well?
I heard Mummy saying that we will be able to reach the airport on time. I saw the time and it is already.. 5, 10, 15, 20.. Oh, 11.20am. What time is your flight again, Dadda? La la la.. Yah, yah. (playing with his robot).
Oh man, I wanted to follow you just now. But Mr Policeman was writing something in his book and asking everybody to leave. What is he writing? Why cannot go with you? Boring la you this. I took a trolley for you already.
It's ok la. I go home first then. Thank you for the long hug. (Mummy was wondering why so long?).
Wah so hot. Already 6pm. I wanted to go to Zam Ze Yang's (not real name) house but Mummy would not let. She said must sit down and study my spelling test tomorrow. Suddenly Mummy said to me, you forgot to wish Dadda Happy Father's Day. Dadda is sad already now. Some more he is alone there and so far away. Alah, I forgot la. I said to Mummy. You also didn't. Mummy kept quiet, and said, oh ya oh. Then Mummy dialled your number.
I remember your number too Dadda. Mei tiao pa tei xiao xiao. Mei ge ren ti zue li - 013 *** ****. (I taught him the important numbers by putting a tune to it).
I put the phone on loud speaker. You ask me what am I doing and what was I up to. I complained that Mummy would not let me go to ZZY's house because have to do my spelling. And then, Dadda remember I told you about the big mouse I saw. I tried to tell Mummy, but she said that I was joking and did not believe me. She said if I was not joking, I would not smile. But I cannot not smile. Mummy also made me laugh. But then after that, Mummy got up and she saw the mouse, and it was not alive. Eeeee.
After telling you about the mouse, I shouted Happy Father's Day, and began telling you about the balloons in the house and all. So when you come back next week, we got a surprise for you ok. (Angelus tend to be a numero uno spoiler). Mummy was giving me some signals and she keep on saying no la, don't have la. Then she took the phone away from me. Ok la bye bye Dadda, I said.
After that I played with Missy, and I took the hose and sprinkler and played water again like last night. I got wet again. Wheeee...
Oh got something else. I got a balloon from Jing Hang's sister's birthday party just now. I ate cake only. But when I came back, Mummy cooked spaghetti! Yayyyyy! I was so full (ok, you know la what happened next, sayang).
And now your baby boy is sleeping on our bed, wearing my shirt and under our blanket. He is so tired, it took him less than 5 minutes to knock-off.
To the love of my life - Father's Day is everyday for us. You are celebrated (and worshipped) not only today but in all the days of our lives. You inspire us to be generous and kind to all. You had done a magnificent job in bringing up our son, even though it was only for 2 years plus. You have loved and cared for him like he was your own, and see how marvellous and kind-hearted he has become. He is loved by all because of your love, and everybody acknowledges it.
And even though, we were not there with you today, I hope that you will always know that in spite of me not being verbally expressive this morning, you have always been the true inspiration in all the entries that I write here. And as Sandra had said, she has never seen somebody who worships the husband so much, like I do.
Yes I can be pretty annoying and stubborn and selfish at times, but I am learning to deal with it. I just want you to know that you are the beacon in our lives and we are proud to be a part of you. You might not know it (sometimes I too forget), that you are still the man that I had adored and respected 3 years ago. Remember that post I did to nominate you for that contest, I still believe in it, from the bottom of my heart..
He has a heart of a lion when it comes to dealing with people of all ages, all races, all personalities and all attitudes. He never lets anybody be bored or sad when he's around because he will always have something up his sleeves. There will always be a twinkle in his eyes, a smile on his face and he will never fail to lend a helping hand to anyone. He was raised to do his best in everything he does which creates a certain aura of confidence around him wherever he goes. He's definitely a great friend and a reliable person. In his own way, he exudes his happy-go-lucky attitude and as infectious as his smile, his care-free personality will touch anyone who's in the same room as he is. His friendliness and openness has been mistaken wrongly most of the time but that is who he is - a person who lets everyone in his life so that he will know them by heart and remember them by name. His life is like an open book and he will never fail to hand out a pen for those who would want to scribble in it, as he will definitely treasure these memories and hold them close in his heart. He loves peace and harmony and do not like to see his friends hurt too long. His willingness to forgive often supercedes his anger in just a matter of time, and would rather have a friend than an enemy. I know that if he goes blind, he can see with his mind, if he goes deaf, he can go by instinct and if he fails in life, he will just shrug his shoulder, let out a snicker and go on living. When the time comes for him to pass his baton of life to the next generation, he will definitely feel that his life is fulfilled as he has loved and is loved by all the people who matters to him. He will be remembered by all as the guy-next-door who would always brighten up a dull room, a person who is willing to share everything he's got to those who needs it most but above all he will be loved for his loving nature, his innocence thoughts about life, his naive yet experienced perception on love and his undying urge to make better his way of living and also to those whose life he touches every single day.

Awww.. that's such a touching and beautiful post. Makes me so teary-eyed... (and being awake at 4.20am doesn't help either).. hehehe..
Happy Father's Day to your hubby, Ed! Some fathers also don't treat their own children with love and care like that. You're blessed!
Anyways, Happy Father's Day to every father in your life! :)
Hope you had a fun Father's Day with your family :)
hope it's not too late to wish your hubby a belated happy father's day...
such a good post...
hi shem, thanks a lot. when he came back today from his trip, it was like welcoming a long lost relative. son came shouting and blowing a really noisy instrument, with arms wide open. when hubby carried him, he shouted happy father's day in his ears! aduii!
so excited.
and then as usual he would describe the so called surprise to hubby. surprise indeed.
;P
rozie, the father's day celebration was only today. hubby felt really touched. he thought we forgot him.
mission accomplished i tell you!
andrew/june: it is never too late. i think we should all think like that.
hubby enjoyed the mini celebration/welcoming stint we did for him.
basically it was son shouting around and blowing trumpets.
haha. it was really hillarious.
