We are sending our little angel to a football academy!!
I really cannot imagine my lil Angelus all grown up and now going to kick some a** in a sport that all of us love!
Well it is in our blood and we have been to a gazillion football matches together. I am sure Angelus would love it. If he doesn't also, well at least he has tried right? That is the attitude we are trying to instil. Even though you lose, the most important part is that at least you had tried your very best.
He is an active boy by nature and we encourage him to go play outside (hence the huge garden and our super active dog, Missy) instead of playing video games or watching too much of tv (a little of tv, like Little Einstein is ok). Little Einstein teaches about classical music, musical instruments, friendship and singing. I am actually hooked on to it myself.

I have to say that he is a very diplomatic boy and has a sense of empathy the size of the Earth herself for everyone. I guess it is compassion, but sometimes he gets a little bit too sensitive. A true ladies man I might say!
Back to the football academy.
We are actually bringing him to the Brazil Football Centre in 3K Stadium, Subang Jaya (beside A&W, Summit etc). They have a good line up of coaches from Brazil and quite interestingly one of them is a missionaire (Coach Valdecir) that followed us to Singapore a while back to play football with another Christian Care Centre there.
Coach Valdecir's adorable daughter, Talitha
Angelus is gonna be enrolled in the Weekend Program catered for boys (even girls) age 7 to 8. It is a 2 day weekend practical and theory sessions, but I figured we will try for one day first, which will be on Saturday 8am. The best part is that it is a small group thus the Brazillian coaches (headed by Coach Lamartime) can focus on each of the students.
Another cool thing is the Special Incentive Program. Here, a series of 8 or more students will be selected by the coaches to attend a 1 month training stint in BRAZIL!! In the brochure it says 2 but when I asked Coach Valdecir, they actually had hand picked 8 to go this year in October. OMG! How surreal is that! Hubby is fuming (cos he couldn't go during his time) but excited if ever Angelus is selected. OMG! I am so gonna go with him if he does get selected!
Anyway, on a more serious note.. the fees are affordable also!! Aiyo. What more can you ask la. For a month's training, once a week it is only RM 120. Plus of course you have to buy the jersey and shorts (Brazil signature yellow and blue) for RM 150. I mean not to say that dirt cheap, but to be trained professionally it has got its price to pay, isn't it. Takkan you go to a chaplang (unprofessional coaches) coach and expect to be a world class player. Gosh, Malaysia really needs one (if not 11??..Lol).
Well whatever it is, it would be a great to have a father and son team in one football team. Angelus being young, rebellious and fast would go for midfield or striker. Hubby being wise and protective would protect home by becoming the defender.
A classic example of fathers and sons team in one team and working as a team (say that fast 3 times!!)
I shall say that it will be soon. A father's dream to have his son play alongside each other.
well, good for Angelus :) And if he does take a keen interest in football, please send him overseas to play. If he plays in our Malaysian league, there will be no hope ... LOL!
OMG Ed! I LOVE the 1st photo of little Angelus cutting his hair :-))
Oh, and it's always good to get your kids in sports and if possible competition sports...it really teaches you alot of life lessons..besides keeping you out of trouble :)
dora: hubby was an all-rounder where whatever he took he excelled in it. football, ping pong, volleyball etc. he is a great motivation to us. so we wanna instill that in all our children. will definitely be visiting u! cheers.
rozella, what a high expectation for him. hee hee. good la. at least aim high, hope for the best, nurture the improvements, make room for self-striveness and just be there when he needs us.
hey jo-n, i dont mind if he takes up any sport. just as long as he doesn't spend his time too much watching tv n playing video or computer games. will be waiting on that post ok..

I do want him to spark a change in Malaysian football, if not any other sport. we need people like Nicol David who keeps the dream and hope alive.
It's good to get the kids to sports as young as possible. Nice meeting you and hope to see u ard my place. Cheers.

I think it's a pretty healthy hobby if he likes football. Keep it up and take it easy, little guy.
